Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I tune and service my instrument?

Most piano manufacturers recommend tuning and servicing twice per year due to changes in humidity. Pianos that are heavily used may need more frequent servicing. Action regulation is typically recommended to be checked once per year.

How long does a tuning take?

Typically if no additional work is needed – a piano tuning takes about 75 mins. However, if the instrument has not been tuned within the past 2 years – it may also require a pitch raise which requires extra time.

How do I prepare for a tuning?

Please remove all items sitting on top of the piano including ornaments, books, fabric covers and lights so that the inside can be easily accessed.

How do I know what my piano needs?

If you are aware of any issues such as sticky keys or buzzing noises, please detail these when you book your appointment. As an added service, a condition report will be provided during every tuning appointment. This diagnostic report will outline any further adjustments/repairs your piano may need.

What payment methods do you accept?

Cash, cheque, e-transfer and credit cards.
